Comcast revisited

I've just read this thoughtful post by Dave Winer (of the RSS fame). It seems that he gave his problems even more thought than me. And he also found that blogging about his experience is the only way things may get fixed. Dave's previous post about Comcast problems (A new reason to hate Comcast) got 150 comments. Comments on that post (and the post itself) are a great read too.

My account number is 06104215179-04-0. My service was never established by the technician who had come to connect on December 1st 2008. He took the equipment back with him along with the check promising that another technician will come and establish the service. another technician was scheduled to come on December 3rd who never showed up and the service was never established but Comcast did cask our check (that the first technician took with him) in the amount of $110.60

I am trying to get my money refunded back for more than 6 months now. After 4 months of following up I was refunded back only $67.49 in May 2009. The remaining amount of $43.11 was not returned back telling me that this is the monthly bill……but the service was never established…there was no connection in the first place.

Did you forget your own policy……quoted from Comcast website at:
http://www.comcast.com/Corporate/Customers/CustomerGuarantee.html

“We make the following guarantees:
We will give you a 30-day, money-back guarantee on all our services.
If you’re not satisfied and wish to cancel service for any reason, you can do so in the first 30 days and get your money back. Simply return all equipment in good working order and we’ll refund the monthly recurring fee for your first 30 days of service and any charges you paid for standard installation.”
I have made several phone calls in the past requesting to speak to a manager who apparently is always on a break and is never available to talk and never returns the phone back. I am always told the check will be processed in 3-4 business weeks

Below is the list of days I have talked to the customer service representatives:
Dec 30th, Jan 11th, Jan 19th, Jan 20th, Feb8th, April 6th, April 13th, May 9th, July 7th, July 8th, July 14th, July 28th
Below are the names/rep IDs (Note: I have been given a wrong rep ID as well by the representative because there have been times when I have called referring to a particular representative with their ID and have been told no such representative exists)
Name: Kim
Name: Deborah
Name: Brittney ID# 637V
Name: Chancy@billing dept@union office
Name: David ID # H53 (who promised someone from accounting will call back and tell me when the check will arrive and also promised the supervisor will call back as soon as they are available
Name: Jessica ID#51N
Name: Yollanda ID# 27031 lusinana office
Name: denitra ID# 22048 in lusiana office (manager – finally on July 28th I get to speak to one manager after 6 months and holding for 1 hour)

I NEED MY MONEY BACK. I am going to take this forward with BBB if I do not hear from you about the arrival date of my check (I am sick and tired of hearing 3-4 weeks time line…then me following up to find out the accounting decided to not refund me my money back with any reason)
